Orville L. Freeman was born on May 9, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.   Mr. Freeman was elected
Governor of Minnesota in 1954 and served three terms.   In 1961, he was chosen by President
Kennedy to be the Secretary of Agriculture.   He served as Secretary from January 21, 1961,
until January 20, 1969.
Mr. Freeman was the keynote speaker at a luncheon during the RC&D Meeting featured in the picture below.
  I (Owen Lee) had the priviledge of getting his autograph after his presentation.   He was the
Agriculture Secretary when I started my career in 1962.
